Follpvosten: I think i just fucked something up, that's not good

Follpvosten: I started playing with iocage, and after a bit of reading (not enough tho, apparently), i decided it was a good idea to assign my host's ip to the shared ip interface of the Jail and restart it

Follpvosten: Now i can't ssh into my server

Follpvosten: And even better, i set that Jail up to be started at boot

aaron: Serial console time.

Follpvosten: I guess so, i hope that will be possible somehow (the server sits somewhere in france) Luckily and funnily, my VBox VMs are still running and accessible (they have different IPs)

aaron: Use a vbox exploit to hit root and then fix things up?

Follpvosten: Now that would be a funny way to do it

aaron: Also, don’t you have a remote management procedure set up? Remote serial, or ability to have a boot CD inserted?

Follpvosten: I have a netboot option

Follpvosten: This is the cheapest possible dedicated server, i think, so the service will probably not be that good

aaron: Ahh. I’m used to having a web console for serial.

Follpvosten: OVH, who own the company providing my server, do provide that, but for "So you Start", i don't think so

Follpvosten: I guess i will have to try the netboot option. It looks like they offer something similar to a serial console für $30 a day, wtf.

aaron: Yea, just NetBoot a CD, mount root, and turn off the jail.

Follpvosten: Yep, i'll do that

Follpvosten: Tho it does look like the boot=on parameter of iocage doesn't do anything, at least on my local test system, so maybe i only need to hard-reset the machine

Follpvosten: Tho i can't be sure, because i also can't reproduce the issue locally

myfreeweb: yeah, if you remove schg flags first, and set them again with mtree after extracting

it may be a glitched config, worked for me (freebsd11, fresh install firefox from packages)

I literally had to trigger this checkbox to make it work (same thing, funny with Lenovo 700-17ISK bios - you must trigger intel virtualization setting for it actually to work)

++ but nothing wrong in sqlite (it's small) and python2 (it's not that big too)

this is final detail, that's how you attach a raw disk to virtualbox guest from freebsd host https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/51200/reply?quote=287015
