Hello everyone. I waann make clear some things in my mind, related to BSD OS. Long time ago I was a windows user like many people here. So, after I discovered Linux and later Unix-likes ( especially BSD one). My first decision when I wanted to quit windows was to migrate to FreeBSD and OpenBSD, then installing them in my 32bit laptop. I really was fascinated by the ieda to make one of them as my main OS for personal use. I then made some researches, talked to some people who run these OS. They told me I did wrong to quit windows and move directly to Unix, they advised me to start with Linux ( ubuntu to begin) which is slight, when I'll be confident in things such as command line, shell by doing stuffs like networking and system administration I could go to Unix. Now I wanna know from you guys, you're skilled, power user of BSD. They're right or wrong to tell me that ? If so, why? Thanks a bunch in advance.

I think that for me it was better to begin with Ubuntu. My FreeBSD is a reproduction of my Ubuntu, with Apache, PHP and MariaDB, running WordPress and MediaWiki. I also have a miniDLNA installed.
