good thing: i just downloaded the font, extracted it with 7zip and copied otf files in fonts folder, reactos immediately got it
Mike
this is the folder i downloaded and used

Hyperbased in Hyperspace: and it does display everything as its supposed to?
Mike
as you can see from the videos, partially yes
Mike
sometimes it got crazy and reverted to other fonts
Mike
on reboot it saves the font, but it still does the same strange things
Can
It's known bug. After heavy operations involving Win32k, ReactOS could near-freeze and fonts could turn into bold.
Can
@Mark_Jansen maybe could tell more.
Mark
well, considering you know this bug, I'd say you can tell more?
Mark
I don't know this bug
Mike
i know that reactos allows me to choose my font, while damn windows 10 doesn't. ok, i am quite decent at reading so i don't have a strong need for dyslexic friendly fonts, but i still am dyslexic and they still help me.
Can
Can
George knows that, too.
Mike
i also read a question and official answer by some ms people about this, that made me quite mad tbh.

windows 95 was lightweight alright. it could only store 2GB (later 4GB) files while professional editions at the time could store 256TB. reactos doesnt have a 4GB filesize limitation does it?
Anas
Depends on the file system, I guess
Mike
ofc fat32 limits may apply

ofc fat32 limits may apply
ew... ive seen some people complain that they could no longer install windows on fat32 and had to use ntfs. how could they love such absurd limitations.
Camarada Gato
If I say that Windows 9x is a DOS program, this coul'd be an absurd?
Camarada Gato
Maybe DOS can't support NTFS, at least in 1990s
Camarada Gato
The reason? I don't know.
Stas'M
Stas'M
it's an operating system running on top of DOS
Stas'M
or rather booted from it
Camarada Gato
Oh, ok.
Camarada Gato
Operating system is not a program?

also xp shouldve been called millenium edition since 2001 was the beginning of the new millenium and choosing millenium edition as the name contradicts the name of the family it was part of known as 9x
Camarada Gato
I can say that Windows 9x was the greatest gambiarra in the history of computing.
Camarada Gato
Sorry, gambiarra is a word that only exist in portuguese.

Camarada Gato
The "gambiarra" term means that it is an alternative solution to a problem.
An example of "gambiarra" is fixing a Beetle engine with wire.

Camarada Gato
This mirror in this car is another example of "gambiarra"
Camarada Gato
Then, this is what i want to say, when i say that Windows 9x is gambiarra.
Chungy
Operating system is not a program?
It kind of is, but it's a program that runs independently of anything else. (Really, the kernel of an OS is a special program and the rest of the OS consists of other programs and libraries to provide services)
Chungy
Windows NT had unreasonably high system requirements in the 1990s so the original Windows line of OSes was continued with 95, 98, Me. They had two benefits: lower hardware requirements and better DOS compatibility.
Chungy
DOS served as a bootloader but Windows 9x was a full OS.

DOS could even serve as the bootloader to Linux with linload ;)
