Ntdev is (maybe) quietly in this group without noticing.
Jeff
there's a small issue here with the 64 bit build. I can't enter ctrl + alt + del for logging in
Jeff
I've tryied to use the keyboard and the virtualbox insert option

On virtualbox, this is a known issue. Please do another install of ReactOS. Then go to settings, power options and disable the option of showing the login prompt (I can't recall the exact names rn and maybe I got this wrong - but it's along these lines - and remember this is only a workaround - it worked for me)
Jeff
I've even installed guest drivers
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): do you happen to force-restart the virtual machine?
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): what filesystem are you using for the install?
Jeff
fat
Jeff
and it's broken now hahqa
Jeff
build 4556 now btw
Jeff
Confirmed: 4556 is the latest one which works
Julen
5ee633f?
Julen
So 884356a is the guilty?
Jeff
4557-g884356a breaks everything
Jeff
just a BSOD
Julen
O.o It shouldn't.
Julen
I mean, the bots are not failing.

Is there any way to install vbox additions? it says it's not a valid exe
Jeff
even the 64bit exe
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): the "64-bit" VBox additions has a 32-bit installer, that cannot work on ROS x64.
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): (since we don't have any WOW64)
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): because windows x64 has a wow64 emulation layer that allows you to do that
\Device\NUL
on windows you can run the x64 exe directly
64 bit application is still depend on 32 bit library, Windows can't have pure 64 bit system because of this
Chungy
Windows can and does; they've had an option to have WoW-less Windows Server since 2008 R2

hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): wowless windows is actually the most natural. And it can e.g. be found by running a windows recovery environment.

But still my device driver depend on 32 bit library, even the 64 bit driver
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): impossible, your device driver, running in kernel mode, can only be for native platform (i.e. 32-bit on windows 32-bits and 64-bits on windows 64-bits)
Matrix Telegram Bridge
Hyperbased in Hyperspace: thats hilarious
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): this doesn't mean that the driver file itself is 32-bits. It can be 64-bits while being placed in the x86 program files, because the vendor wanted to store all of his stuff inside one single directory, and the rest of it -- its main user-mode code -- is 32-bits.
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): But yeah, just open the driver file in e.g. dependency walker and see for yourself, what bitness it does report and what other libraries it depends upon....

what about windows 11?
from technical perspective its closer to being an update for windows 10, there isnt any problem at all, apps would work the same way

same can be said about xp being an update to 2000. people will say 2000 is no different from 98 but theres major differences. 98 can only handle 4GB files while 2000 can handle 262144GB.

xp was more important from marketing point of view (bringing nt to home market) than from technical perspective although it did bring new things to attract home users and look more competent when comparing to os x (stuff like theme engine)

yes. it looked like it was for tablets. the design of 8 didnt look professional enough for a desktop whatsoever.

as if xp was professional looking lmfao that thing was made out of plastic and had a virtual dog assistant for search

main drawback of tablets is that there is not enough good software for them, either dumbed down mobile apps stretched for tablets or full blown desktop apps that are impossible to work with if you dont have a keyboard
Anonymous
i wish netbooks didnt have to die. tablets cannot compare.
companies decided to give netbooks the lowest end hardware possible because they wanted them to fail. if companies actually cared about netbooks they couldve been so awesome.
