Old driver can read FATX (xbox version of FAT). I don't know if anybody tested that functionality though

hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): If by "Current" you mean the "new" fastfat, which directly comes from the MS driver samples, it would be much better to keep that one clean, and have a separate fastfatx just for handling fatx. But heh, in a sense we have it already! It's our old fastfat.

Hypothetically, sure. I think even the Linux fat driver has one of its code path branches to handle FATX (similar to how it needs to branch for FAT 12, 16, and 32). The original xbox is ancient though and such code is likely to go untested and have regressions. hbelusca said it: just have a separate driver.
