Tobiyo
on the other hand you're saying you would work on the code to make stable before you recieve a donation
Anas
Exactly

Anas
Mint vs Pop
Anas
Anthony from Linus Tech Tips chose Pop
Anas
Is there any advantages in using pop over mint?
Anas
I hear something about libraries
Anas
And that mint doesn't have gaming stuff pre installed

I was doing the same thing you people tell everyone who asks for a stable release to do.
Tobiyo
Tobiyo

Aman Pinto
👍🏻
Tobiyo
tis just not "stable" :P
Tobiyo
and won't be untill devs can sit on it, to sit on it they need to be funded :P

As someone from the Microsoft discord server said about this project and I quote "They are rebuilding the ENTIRE OS to be binary-compatible with Windows, and they are a LONG way from even 100% support with Windows XP apps. They've got another almost 20 years of difference between XP and 10."
Aman Pinto
Tbh, this project is a good idea but will be irrelevant by the time it comes out.

It's an open source reimplementation of Windows NT, with the goal to be compatible with all drivers and applications. The kernel is currently fixed at 5.2 (Server 2003 / XP64), because it's an unmoving target to go for. It's a milestone.
Aman Pinto
I see
Chungy
There are a few Windows Vista+ APIs implemented in the userspace, but not many. It's really not the focus yet.
Aman Pinto
Chungy
Just a handful.
Chungy
most of it is unpaid volunteer work. That's why it's slow.
If you want it to progress faster, you better have millions of dollars to make it full-time. :P
Tobiyo
Chungy
The project started when Windows NT 4.0 was the current version. I remember it being "stuck" at that goal for a long time after the release of XP (and maybe also Vista?)

windows xp was the most loved windows os when windows 7 was actively supported :P

Back then, it was called FreeWin95...
Chungy
No code was written at all. FreeWin95 was all talk and no code
Chungy
Windows NT was visibly the proper future of Windows at that time. Win9x was a hold over until DOS support wasn't so important.
