You could get into philosophical arguments about kernels that aren't just what you get from kernel.org -- I know a handful of Linux developers cast doubt into RHEL actually using Linux because of the extent that they've modified the kernel (far beyond what any Android vendor has ever done); backporting features and supporting a major version for a decade longer than mainline bothers to.
