Depends on the email client. I like Thunderbird filters, but I just use the mailing list email address for filtering.

I don't know if there's any best practices, but I think Fedora mailing lists will be the same as any other.

It's mostly about things like "quote messages above or below reply", "where to put the signature", "PGP/MIME" or as plaintext, making sure not HTML or non-plaintext mails are send, ...

Ohhh. Corporate email can be a nightmare. :/ Especially if it's Exchange. I was told, sadly, at my office to give up on Thunderbird because the back office team strongly discouraged anything other than Outlook.

I run a Dovecot+SOGo Setup, wht is pretty good integrated with thunderbird as well as Outlook and mobile mail clients of course, too. It's a good combination I think and is completely open Source. Not sure if it's free software, but for sure open ^^

On Fedora mailing lists, the common courtesy is like other projects, like replying at the bottom of an email thread (or replying in-line). Although, obviously not everyone does this. I prefer plaintext on mailing lists because sometimes people with HTML emails have things embedded or their preferences actually makes it hard to read (with plaintext, it's formatted with my preferences).

Hah, fair. Hopefully it's not too many all at once. :D The point where I was receiving up to 150+ emails in a day was when I realized that I need filtering in my life

ACK, that's why I was asking if there is a general guide on the wiki ^^ From other projects I know something like this: https://wiki.maglab.space/wiki/Mailing-Liste/Regeln But since it's in german only, I was wondering if there is something similar in the fedora wiki

Like 50 or so at once. But yeah, I had hundreds of emails waiting on queue and then was the moment when I realised that 1) I'm trying too much, better restrict myself to very few things I know I can cope with. 2) If I don't read within a day, it's unlikely I'll ever read it. Better delete than gathering trash.
