.-. Looks like people want me to leave fedora :D I talked to a lot of people and always "Why aren't you using Distro XY?" And even when I question things like distrochooser there are many distros that are higher ranked. ... All in all, I like fedora, it simply works and is stable which is the main reason for me to use it .-. So people will still try to tell me that Gentoo or Arch would fit my "skill set" so much better but I will resist ^^

So if you happen to have real ones, discard arch

Best thing you can do, when someone installs Gentoo by ssh while he's out of office: place an unpacked bar of chocolate on his notebook's keyboard :D

Can understand: all my colleagues use Ubuntu at work, because it's suggested by google for android development and they are used to it (moslty they use Win at home). Every time, every man (except of one arch-guy) is trying to say me: "Stop using fedora, it causes issues for you, use ubuntu, everything is better here" (and lots of other stuff). And guess who is always helping them when the people chash their Ubuntu's?)

What annoys me most is that there are more and more companies providing their software for linux but only as .deb download. In some rare cases also as .rpm. But they simply can't make it to host it in a useful way -> repository

Fedora is lab for rhel. No ? Redhat is the biggest open source company by millions dollars. We all depend on them even this is free software. Canonical help millions of noob like me free their informatics by pushing ubuntu and become power user and perhaps fedora user.

What? I`m installed arch on my laptop, three years ago, it takes 3 hours for install and customizing. And all. No any problems, just updates one time by month. That`s all. Well, I have other computers, servers and a few jobs. But what about ANY distro is need to be time-spending is lie.

Most of that crap is companies just ignoring other Linux distros and only providing packages for Ubuntu... That is not dissimilar to the windows software availability conundrum.
