Mhm last time I did, it didn't show up maybe it has changed since then?

Okay, it appeared in gdm this time but broke my whole i3 theme. Now I'm back to i3 and everything works as usual ^^

rofi needs some hacks and you have to change i3-dmenu-desktop to make it work in a proper way. But I have no idea how to fix it on integration level.

Basically, if you upgrade to the next release and something is broken, you can revert back to the older release, for the time for the devs to fix it

Jimmy

the main appeal of this solution is to use copy on write, for snapshots that take less space on disk

Simple: Take lvm snapshot update reboot if failed (which shouldnt happen on fedora, really) restore old snapshot

lvm and btrfs snapshots will use approximately the same space - both only record changes since x

Likely. also, be sure to name the lvm something different because else live cant mount it

default is "fedora"

change it to "fedoramine" or "mystuff"

i even more recommend regular backups and an xfsdump > external media before you do it

it doesnt care what filesystem is on it even

Also! Always keep in mind live snapshots are not something to rely on. the system may still be writing and changing data and it is a really bad idea to restore that usually.

luckily xfsdump only takes $amount_of_used_space on your disk
