That's interesting... I use them both, Debian (APT) in my netbook and Fedora (DNF) in my laptop.

Uhm... looks like the driver is missing. What desktop are you using? Did you search for the model in repos to see if the driver is available there for installation. If it's not, you should look for it on Google as HP has a good support for Linux.

Other people may though, so, have to keep that in mind.

For example the integration in the default logon screen is missing when you install it by package. You have to do that yourself.
