Has anybody else tried the design suite 26?
I did, but long ago. It's great if you like Gnome Shell.

like ClipIt on XFCE?
Yeah, something like that.

I have been using it since like forever, got more than 3000 items in the history
Can I add it to the panel? First time I heard of it. I was using some sort of extension in Gnome Shell, and then in KDE I just use the thingy that comes with Plasma by default, so I never had to search for a specific tool.

the good thing is it can store EVERYTHING in there

images, links, text etc

my databases of it exceed 1 GB haha

Why that much?

I always clean the clipboard when I logout.

No, I don't want to backup anything, I just want to have a way to access to the clipboard if I need again something I already copied (like a word or a sentence).

if its Gnome then its not for me, it consumes a lot of RAM
I'm not worried about RAM but I don't like Gnome. Lacks too many options.

KDE gets bloated if you add apps, neon is surprisingly light ootb
My KDE is not bloated. But I disabled long ago the "Consider suggestions as dependencies" feature to install software.

to be honest, i've tried KDE in other distros before, didnt like it. but i like wat they did in Neon though
What exactly you didn't like in other distros? What did you like in Neon?

i know, but i like the Fedora MATE spin though
Mate is nice. I prefer XFCE though. In low specs computers. On a normal one I use either KDE or Cinnamon.

not that i didnt like it, but it found the other distros which used KDE to be a little laggy. i didnt feel that in Neon

MATE is also low on resources. infact, XFCE, LXDE or MATE are suggested for low spec comps, exactly in that order

https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/6lw74r/fingerprint_scanner_on_acer_swift_3/

And since asus(and acer, doesnt matter really) is a POS company with 0 Interest for their customers or linux or even their products they won´t add this themselves

anyway, I will keep it without my dear fingerprint.. It doesn't matter.

You should have said "I barely know" instead. ?
In my experience, I have never seen any GUI tool which is better than CLI tools, all GUI tools seemed to be the second choice for me, I don't deby Linux may have some decent GUI tools I don't know it but seriously do u prefer yumex over dnf installation ? Uget over wget ? Whatever chrome addon over youtube-dl? Ofc there are some fields where GUI shines like designing I even use CLI for moving between directory and moving files since I'm all the time working with pip and git more than file manger, CLI was always the special thing about Linux in my perspective, always take me few lines to host project while my class mates struggling because they have to install like 3 GUI tools in windows.

Another good example of CLI abilities is installing fonts, in GUI I have to open up each font and click install, now what if I have 400 fonts ? Just type su in terminal then type the name of your file manger (browsing file in root permission), open certain directory for fonts, copy and past, and u r good to go

python3 manage.py runserver gonna take 3-4 minutes in GUI to test my website on local host while I just write the command and hit enter in CLI

Normally I prefer cli too, but » Whatever chrome addon over youtube-dl I'd prefer whatever addon (e.g. savefrom). I just open a video and click two buttons to download, instead of copying a link. So, there are some tools, which are better in gui, than in cli. But not so much (:
Any addon won't give u the ability to do what youtube-dl does, download a whole playlists and convert it to m4a (audio) in one command, downlaoding the video with subtitles I'm not sure about the last one tho

The whole playlist is a good argument. But in case just download what do i want right here right now just this video, addon will be more useful.

Ghazwan Aliesh

Yes for one video, GUI may be quicker
actually, if you require mouse movement to do it it will be slower

if you do it right you can jump to title bar, switch window, youtube-dl (or alias ydl with your favourite settings) ctrlshiftv and enter and switch back

in less than a second

thats the time you'd need to move to the icon to click alone

Anxhelo
13.07.2017

Ofc CLI is faster

Maybe you{hit tab for aut completion} {ctrl+shift+v} gonna be a bit quicker, anyway no one will question youtube-dl's power, it's obviously the best

and what of you want to preset "format :4k else 2k else 480p else mp3 else whatevs"?
You got no choice then, YouTube-dl is the one and only tool to do that AFAIK
