Personally I'd love a git hoodie. Plus, it's nearly impossible to start flame wars over git. People have their programming languages they love, but nearly EVERYONE agrees git is a savior. Except for maybe those handful of people using Subversion, but maybe even one day they too will use Git.

There are some vendors that ship laptops with Linux preinstalled, albeit Ubuntu Linux.However, in general, laptops with Intel stuff should be supported 100℅, no question.
(if you don't have gaming needs)
