Hey, I am having an issue with the netinst minimal installation. I think it's a LOCALE problem. I am getting very ugly distortions and error messages in dnf.

Well, the output shows a lot of unicode characters that can't be printed, so yes, it looks like a LOCALE problem

It's not the one reason which made me choose Fedora; Fedora is IMHO just well-tested and overall nicely done, so it allows me to focus on doing my work without having to worry whether my Linux is going to work today or not

I've never used Mate for longer so I don't know how it will behave, but knowing it is rooted in Gnome2 which allowed for fairly painless changing of window managers I guess it can be done, now whether you'll like tiling window managers or not is a separate ieda, but you have to try for yourself ;)

A netinst should present you a working system.
