No. Especially dont install multilib versions.

If you manually specify i686 ans x86_64 you can break so much stuff - just give dnf the name and it will choose whats best

i'm doing fresh F26 installation when it will be stable, that's the only obvious solution, over 50 packages has been conflicted

mkv can consiat of so many open and patented codecs....

Try this:

Enable rpmfusion dnf install mpv

And refer to the installation script i had posted for the syntax to enable all non-patented and non-ugly gstreamer codecs

mpv is just a media player that should also depend on most good gstreamer codecs

You can always install vlc as well, for whenever something can't play an mkv

But ideally stick to mpv

i don't understand ur concern fellow, u r in heaven with 8 GB and gnome isn't enough to ruin that even chrome can't (unless google is being bitch). if u still concern about ram-friendly kd, i strongly recommend XFCE

magically XFCE has very goood features (i would say 90% of gnome) with far less ram consuming
