In the eu you can get sued for having a spam mailer and cheesepizza porn downloader and if you cant prove it wasnt you... Also, companies get sued for not updating now.

You as Company now have monetary incentive to update.

in the eu.

piracy - 500 companies vs 300 million users not updating - 300 million users vs 500 companies.

ideally start a mass combined suing

Once the court case started you can ban the product from sale easier for not comlying.

you can do full range bans.
or you can think about why those companies don't provide updates and make it easy for them, by decoupling an operating system and actual proprietary software

the root is solved by making everyone comply, code well and update.

And fuck those that dont

Reminder: we are living in a world where the simplest newsreader on a mobile phone is 100MB, I hate it too but well
The fact that so many devs seem to have forgotten how make clean efficient code doesn't mean that we should tolerate it. Gimp takes the same amount of space, more or less, but is a complex programme.

TBH, I don't like Flatpak. I use because of Recipes but if it would come packaged in repos I would delete it.

I see this flatpak as a nice way to quickly take a look if I like an application. If I do, I can build it outside of it. If I didn't, I saved time I had to spend on building it
It's a mess. I understand that devs say "Oh, this way I don't have to apckage it" but you don't have to do it yourself, someone else can package it. I really don't like Flatpak, I find it more annoying than helping.

Michał

not much, well, chinese cameras do work, but they are done on the cheap, this one didn't did what it was advertised to do

when you buy a cheap ice cream and it's an ice cream but it's not tasty, you can blame yourself for getting the cheap one, when you buy a cheap ice cream and the packaging is empty, then you got scammed

chinese cameras are not tasty ones :D

I think we won't really help much against the cheapest manufacturers, but the better ones may use some solutions - it's just hard to expect the camera one has bought for any reasonable price to have maintained software for 15 years

changing the topic: I've been using kupfer for simple keyboard-driven application launching, but I've found rofi yesterday and I think I really like it - it's not in the default repos though
