A lot. That netbook can get so hot I have a hard time to hold it with bare hands. If use the the fan it's perfectly cool, or slightly warm if it's a very hot day.

They get noisy with time. I had one that was beautifully silent, but with time it start to make noise and it was getting worse and worse until I throw it through the window of my aparment
