African animal rights activists involuntarily spent $30000 on unwanted Windows 10 upgrade of ONE computer. Just because they used satellite internet, and Microsoft did not asked do they really want this upgrade...

This is... something. But predictable.

Hi, anyone here who likes Qt apps? I've packaged an interesting image viewer for Fedora - PhotoQt (http://photoqt.org/). It's already in Rawhide and being processed for updates testing in F23 and F24. Test feedback would be very appreciated: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/?packages=photoqt

And I think this is a rare case to get 6Gb updates, even if updating to the new release.

But Fedora will not do something like this without your permission.
Well, Fedora kinda does that. GNOME Software downloads new updates automatically on the background. There should be something now that intelligently identifies if you're running on GSM connection and disables the automatic update download, but I don't know how good the determination is.

Fedora Cinnamon Spin doesn't. It only warns when there's a new update.
