Xorg multiseat - ArchWiki wiki.archlinux.org Multiseat is a certain setup where multiple users work simultaneously on one computer. This is achieved by having two monitors, two keyboards and two mice. The advantages are quite obvious: Less power consumption (only one computer). Less hardware to purchase. All the cool kids do it.

All Quake and Unreal series, everything at Source engine, all Doom series except last one, All Metro games... Plus Wine works relatively well and you can use Windows in VM for some titles without major perfomance issues if you have a dedicated graphic card for it. :)

So, Linux has much games you can play. :)

Less than Windows, sadly.

It's funny than back into late 90s and early 00s, more games had Linux versions.

That's because of monopoly and DirectX.

Quake, Unreal, Shogo, for example. Three games and games on their engines I played much into.

That's because of monopoly and DirectX.
Well, I hope that id would follow it's policies of releasing game engine under FOSS license in few years.

What do you think about buying one PC and sharing it with your BF living in one house?
Would but only with two dedicated gpus so it uses two vms instead and something using 10 gigabit ethernet to my room or any other client to have full speed spice remote

Or usbc or even -ew- thunderbolt

1 gbit is barely enough for 1300x700px at 30fps - and if you plug in a single 5gbit usb device....

4k@60 fps uses ~50-70 mbit/sec.
spice isnt compressed

and i wish i knew a way to make it

maybe it would be possible to do so using an external application, though

How come this netcut-like app (tuxcut) exist in the official repo ? It's illegal and so selfish

How come this netcut-like app (tuxcut) exist in the official repo ? It's illegal and so selfish
from the description: "A utility that protect linux computers againest arpspoof attacks"

protection is not unlawful, at least it shouldn't be

and about the ability to "cut" - you need a way to test if your protection is working if you'd protect your network

so I guess it is good that such software is available and it should be as widely distributed as possible, the responsibility is on the side of the network administrators to prevent it.

Ghazwan Aliesh

I've never seen a user uses this kind of app for protection.

Michał
08.05.2017
07:25:13
But ppl in most misuse it.
people can write ransom letters in libreoffice, should we remove libreoffice from the repo?

https://github.com/a-atalla/tuxcut/blob/master/tuxcut_core.py#L201 - the whole "cutting" is just executing three commands in the terminal

again, in my opinion the more widely available it is, the better - computers need to be secured against it, so that attack would be worthless, not to limit access to the tools

I think guns are quite a different thing, you can't fix the software to protect yourself from the gun wounds

I mean, if such applications would be banned, then I guess we should ban wireshark as well, which is an useful debug tool, even if it can be easily misused

because users and malicious Poeple can always access them

this tool is just a GUI that executes a few console commands underneath and presents output in a graphical way, limiting it is not going to prevent anyone from doing anything wrong
