Try to boot in init 3.
It would give you console for troubleshooting.

If his PC is good enough, he might not need to upgrade in order to use Blender or 3D animations

not sure if this "common", didnt use Gnome System Monitor myself

Eduard

Well, normally all programs use different measures and different intervals
For example, you could set a "free -h" in the console for running each second and the results probably will be different with the System monitor, or htop or top
Maybe top and htop use the same measures, because their base code is the same

I have a question, if someone know: We can set behaviour for 4-clicks? I mean, in text, clicks suposes to be setted as:
1-click: set position
2-clicks: select "word"
3-clicks: select line
I'd like to set:
1-click: set position
2-clicks: select word between symbols (current behaviour)
3-clicks: select word between blank spaces
4-clicks: select line
But I have no idea where I can set up that
