also flatpaks are more centered around repositories, where AppImages seem to be centered around package files being downloaded and executed directly

AppImages look like what Apple is doing on MacOSX, while Flatpak is IMHO a step forward, that adds mandatory sandboxes and simple dependencies

I am able to use void, fedora, ubuntu and I have no idea what else I've distrohopped, all keeping the same home with no major issues

seriously, nah, if a distro needs to be installed in only one way, with only one partition scheme which may not suit me, then I am not sure if I want to go deeper
