Ugh, did anyone encount situation when a VM launched in VMWare Workstation Pro makes host OS lag without even taking 100% of CPU time? Tried to install an application in virtual Windows7 and PC started to lag heavily, while same action in VirtualBox doesn't anyhow interfere with host OS perfomance. Virtual system has 6GB of RAM, host has 16GB, overall RAM usage during operation is 3GB at host OS.

and it should run even more flawlessly you install the spice guest drivers in your windows (which should be included in the vbox guest drivers now)
Dont know if it autosets the storage to writeback caching with virtio after installing tough

How am i supposed to know? That'd make Vmware kind of useless tough
Well, more useless than before since kvm exists imho *cough*
Dont they have their own propreitary vm hd format still tough? "Real" virtio only works well with qcow2 Images afaik

I reduced amount of cores to 2 and RAM to 4GB. No lags now.
So far at least.
That's weird, because amount of cores isn't an issue for VB.
I'd prefer to use VMWare because it handles 3D graphics much better than VIrtualBox.

I'll wait for Kernel 4.11 and kvm integration for what comes with it

im going to install linux on the hard drive , i have 200 gb on hdd for it and 16 gb of ram , would the next partitions be ok ?
SWAP : 24 gb (i want to hibernate)
root : 32 gb
boot : 0.256 gb
Home : rest of the disk
Or i havent understood the correct way to partitioning a disk?

i would put boot in the first sectors and swap between root and home
fedora with all possible packages installed gets way over 32GB, but you probably won't do that
