A designer who didn't bother to read his own stuff. And certainly didn't need glasses. It's kinda hard to read. There should be a contrast, light/dark, not light/light (or dark/dark, for the matter).

well, they made that choice of white typo over a square background image that represents the shop category. of course if the background image is unwisely chosen, that will become hard to read. the images should be darkish.
But they did that only the main page. The rest of the catalog is "normally" readable.
It's the eShop of a museum and the design had to match the overall design of the museum's website (which, btw, is a lot slower because it uses typo3)
Kohana, do you design using Fedora and Linux tools? Or commercial tools as well?
