Yeah, im lucky.
when companies in the US upgrade server hardware they sell it for cheap or have it recycled
these recycle companies sell the parts or refurbished systems for dirt cheap

Ive had 8 people connected to a spigot server, 4 to a garry’s mod, and builds running on jenkins and I havent seen fans ramp up
It was really loud on Boot i assume as a hardware test

Gwindor

That server has all the fans inside. :D
Oiled and devolted properly, so it is almost silent and yet perfectly cooled.

but it sort of just sounds like a normal house fan

Also - Jenkins is a memory hog, I remember I've tried to use it once on an old laptop to build my masters degree, and had to quickly switch it for a BuildBot... ?

Sadin

however I have 12Gb RAM per core so I think im okay for now.
Thats what its there for.

Michał

also we used TeamCity at work, I doubt it is OSS, but I have to admit it was an improvement over Jenkins

Michał

I've been using WebStorm for a while, I love how powerful it was, but it got a bit slow for a very big project, VS Code was less intelligent but way faster
but yeah, when we've switched from Jenkins to TeamCity it was an improvement IMHO, I liked how it was able to mark who is investigating certain build failures

Vs Code is nice its based on Atoms libraries

I don't. They often require you to have a credit card located there. I can buy whatever I like with the same card or PayPal in UK and Europe. Even in Latin America if there was anything to buy there! But not in USA. Our cards and banks aren't good enough for them ?
