Guys, I was trying to dual boot my Windows 10 with Fedora 25, but I keep struggling with the partitions. I've already made 30GB unlocated space. When I checked in the installation options, it's said I have 0 free space available for use When I try to partitioning in the installation, It's said "You have not defined a root partition (/)....." But when I try to make the partitions, /boot etc. It's said failed to add new device. The details show nothing just a blank window. Can anybody help me figuring out what the problem is? Sorry for bad English ?

Do you have any other OS already installed in it?

Are you using MBR or GPT? How many partitions you have already created? Can you send us the output of some commands via the Live session?
In Windows I have 3 partitions and 1 unlocated space. Could you tell me how to do the output commands via live sessions?

The unlocated space, how much is it?

Rudiansyah

No, only has Windows 10. The unlocated space is 32.32 GB

For Fedora you will need at least 10GB, but for a real experience 20GB to 30GB are recommended.

No, only has Windows 10. The unlocated space is 32.32 GB
In that screen mark the option: I will partition manually or something like that.

Good, there you have two options.

Ooooh, shrinking the partition is not enough.

You will need to back up sda4, later delete it and create a extended partion.

Inside it create a logical partition with the desired space of 70GB and then install Fedora on the Freed space.

MBR only has support for 4 primary partitions, you already have 4.

Rudiansyah

17:47:23
But I already freed 30GB from that sda4

(■_■¬)

This is why the installer is un unable to use the free space.

What should I do with the 30GB unlocated space?

What should I do with the 30GB unlocated space?
You will not be able to do something with it, unless you back up your data stored in the 70GB partition, delete the partition 4 sda4, and then after creating an extended partition you will be able to create logical partitions inside the extended, the one with 70GB which can be NTFS and the remaining space can be used for Fedora.

This is the output of: su -c 'fdisk -l': https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/5b2B8lqaI56hbOvaqL8Xml5M1UNdIGYhyRLivL9gydE=/

As you can see, /dev/sda4 is the extended partition, and inside it lives /dev/sda5 which is my internal "backup" the remaining ones are for my linux installation.

Vs terminator: tilix have a better look and feel, it's lighter and quicker. vs tmux: tmux runs in any emulator, tilix "IS" an emulator. Tilix is more "mouse friendly", tmux is more "keyboard friendly".

So, depending on the work you are doing: tilix>terminator, and tilix!=tmux

The Linux desktop has always been a tough nut to crack, and one filled with an army of voices, but I am proud Canonical gave it a shot even if it didn’t succeed it’s ultimate goals. That spirit of experimentation is at the epicenter of open source, and I hope everyone involved here takes a good look at how they contributed to and exacerbated this innovation

Why are we stay have the user agent on Firefox for Fedora? That is an easy way to track user, at least they are able to track what OS we are using.

There are many services that use user agent for good.

No, because Tor is another software. The user-agent is built-in or a plugin, tho.

as far as I know CMake does not depend on RPM database, so the name should not matter much; I would start by checking for which files does the given FindPackage CMake module look for and whether they are actually present in the filesystem, and how does it differ from the actual place where they were installed by dnf

12.04.2017
