Nice to meet u, how is things going with lua on fedora?

Marc

I am not so sure, but I am (slowly, very slowly) trying to make a few things better.
E.g. a Lua interface to PostgreSQL database.

Python

Good luck, I consider ur kins of programmer is unique ppl not rare, cuz it's really harsh to keep away from popular languages and go with the rare ones like go and lua

I would not buy it that Lua is rare.

I bothered the hell of quora community before I picked up python, I asked about 300 q about python future and power before I started learning?

Marc

Python is a beautiful language, I lilke it a lot.

Python
06.04.2017
19:33:13
What do u do with it ?

Marc
06.04.2017
19:34:02
With Lua or Python?

Python
06.04.2017
19:36:06
Lua ofc, I don't know its abilities
Language doesn't matter, algorithm matters, that why i respect lua, go etc programmers
They are mature enough to realise that fact

Marc
06.04.2017
19:37:21
We use Lua in our commercial point of sale and online products (webshops, event ticketing and such)

somewhat, yes, supports various linux variants and docker.
fedora is main development platform, rhel and centos if for deployment

Python

Good luck with it then, it's really neat to write a code in fedora and deploy it on CentOS ??

Google

Marc
06.04.2017
19:42:05
we find so, yes. plus fedora lets us explore "future" technologies like wayland (with future I mean what will become commonplace in the hopefully near future)

It is certainly fit to serve as a language to teach coding.

I personally think it's great just not something I feel like doing
Only think I use outside of fedora is Arch and CentOS
Arch satisfies my adventurous side for now especially since I'm working on hardware that doesn't play nicely in some cases with linux
Lol

I think the mix is what looks a bit odd. Usually Fedora & Debian users want control over their computers but mainly having their work done. And Gentoo is the opposite paradigma, they want to learn, tweak and control everything to the least detail. There is no "work done" besides the computer itself.

Very often blackouts.
Also, well, who would place a server in my flat anyway?
And I will still have to pay for heating, because it is mandatory.

It is cenralised. You can't just switch one apartment out of it.

Kohane
07.04.2017
07:32:25
Ah...
Now I get it.
I thought it was a law ?
Yeah, I had something like that in Uruguay, while living in a flat. It wasn't really mandatory but whether you use it or not you had to pay, so it was almost the same.

Gwindor
07.04.2017
07:33:49
So, it'd consume place, produce noise and heat and I won't have anything to gain from that. :)

I have one of those at home.
Same in Spain
And in many countries in America. You simply don't drink. Often you can't even drink water or juice without permission. That says it all.
