Guys, I need a little help with bridging here.

When I tie interface A of server (to Wi-Fi AP) with interface B (to Laptop), connection with server obviouslu dies.

Thing is, I don't even know what to google :)

When I google bridge-related things, it only goves me solutions on how to tie A to B with connection loss.

Is the server connected via ethernet port or wifi?

Gwindor

All lines are ethernet

How is it supposed to provided connection to the laptop?

Server has 2 Ethernet ports

So, with ethernet as well

I think you should give a read to nmcli or to nmtui to set one on the devices as shared network,

You mus identify which one is serving as 'in' for the server and which one will serve as out to the laptop.

Gwindor

ens32 is out, enp2s1 is in

I have done this, but using the wifi card from my laptop as receptor, and the ethernet as output for another laptop.

Now only need to find a way to mark it as shared

su -c 'dnf install NetworkManager-tui.x86_64' on the server side.

It's provide a ncurses based menu to set the card as a shared network.

Once installed execute it as nmtui

Edit a connection > tab add > Ethernet > tab Create, then on ipv4 configuration tab to select automatic and set it as shared.

Done. Now, what I need to do with second connection?
Figure out the mac of the device that has not been set, and configure as automatic, I guess so...

Remember you should specify the mac's of any of the devices and it purpose.

Eh

When I make it Shared and activate, interface gets a weird IP

Instead of 172.16.0.x it gets 10.42.0.x

I have no clue where it gets it from

(■_■¬)
19.02.2017
07:19:35
Neither I. I guess it is due to the server is providing a new network, the laptop will be connected to the server network no to the ap network, so that is the reason why the IP differs.

I guess...

Gwindor
19.02.2017
07:20:05
Laptop doesn't even get any IP

And server gets new one

Me, I read on #fedora that the proper way to avoid this, is closing the session at first then poweroff.
