Probably the first or the second level helps specially if you have no experience or other studies or certificates. But once you gain experience and/or start studying a career, they lose a lot of relevance. Or so I've been told from people already working on IT. Also it depends on where you want to work. I saw companies asking for people experienced or with RH certification. Cisco sometimes. University degrees, of course. I don't remember any looking for LPI in particular. But it doesn't harm if it's there I guess.

At edx.org there are some courses by the Linux Foundation. Give an eye to them, for beginners I highly recommend it.
