Or packaging it yourself and help other ppl getting it later :)
surely that would require some degree of organisation on my part, to maintain those packages as and when new versions of whatever it is come out. I'm a man child who is so disorganised I have to spend 16 hours a day perpetually catching up on work I failed to get out of the way before hand :P
I don't think I'm package maintainer material haha
if you want something coding, I can probably do that :P

You HAVE TO save in Open Document Format

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:45:46
There is an option to select the default save format

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:46:14
And there's an option to keep using the same format, like "Don't ask again"

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:46:24
Yes
:D :D

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:46:36
There's no such an option in Gimp

Eduard

Eduard
01.02.2017
13:49:58
Buuuuuut
If you export a document to PDF in libreoffice, it will be the same
No?
I mean
I work in a document, then I export it to pdf, I don't want to save the work, so I close the app

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:51:00
Maybe in a near future
I don't think so. Years ago, when this "feature" was introduced there was a lot of complaints and discussion, and Gimp developers kept it with the new "feature" and that was it,

Eduard
01.02.2017

I'm pretty sure it will ask to save in a "document format", when currently means "editable document format"
Even Open or propertary

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:52:44
Open applications intents to keep saved documents in open format

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:52:58

Eduard
01.02.2017
13:53:29
Of course, but when you close the Libreoffice app, it will ask to save

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:53:47
Yes, but you can just click on discard.

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:54:02
That's not so difficult

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:54:59
And if it's a non native format you can tick on "Don't ask again" and it won't bother again. Gimp is way more tricky.
For no reason, just force you to use the native format.

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:55:31
It's the natural behavior
MS Office do the same

Kohane
01.02.2017

I don't know, I rarely use Office and usually online so I have no idea how the programme actually works.

Erisson

It always try to save Office document, docx, xlsx

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:57:22
On LibreOffice? Or MS Office?

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:57:27
if you wants another format you have to select by your own
ms office

Kohane
01.02.2017
13:57:35
Ah

Eduard
01.02.2017
13:57:51
Erisson Yes and no, why it's natural to save in an "Editable format". Even for MS software or for any. I already export, why "export" it's not taken as "save"
Version control?
I export in some point, modify again, export again, modify, export again, modify?

Erisson
01.02.2017
13:58:27
maybe
if you export you have advised that cannot be editable anymore
