could somebody please point me in the right direction on this one as i cant for the life of me get a straight forward answer.. im on Fedora 25 using cinnamon desktop.. is there anyway i can maximize a window and still keep the window border/top bar with the close minimize buttons instead of it disappearing into oblivion?

Sounds like for some reason yout windows decoration is failing, I use Cinnamon in 2 fedora 25 installs and that doesn't happnes

ive literally have to drag my window edges to the end of the screen on all sides to have a full screen window with my buttons still there

Check in Settings. I think there's something related to that.
