Hello everyone!! I'm having a problem. I recently participated in the Space Apps Challenge and our team's project went through to the global instance. Now my team mates decided to give up leaving me with very little code and many doubts. Is there anyone interested to help in this project? With some changes it can be applied to Earthy situations too. Besides, it's open source and we can use it as a way to promote Fedora. It would be a new team of course, with those who are interested. Here's the NASA website with our project ==> https://2016.spaceappschallenge.org/challenges/mars/space-route-66/projects/olympus-mons

@Kohane the best I can put together is a simulation of Moon Lander, the old 1970es game :)

or else a very crue clone of KSP in 2d, very crude

@Kohane so what tech, languages and libraries do you have in mind

or any design doc or specs?

Kohane
03.05.2016
20:46:00
Python is a language I like and understand. Right now, the technology involved is data bases, maybe a website, and then the program itself to add prototypes to the data base and display models and info from the data base. There will be more stuff, but that's the base.

@kohane as soon as you have even a sketch of an idea

Kohane
03.05.2016
20:50:46
Yes, wait, I'll send you a link. There's no code there but some docs and images. It was originally made to work in Mars, but it can be applied to other places and situations. Give me a moment.

It's this ==> https://github.com/spaceappsuy/olympus-project

@kohane are you aware of the Mars Direct mission architecture?

launch the return spacecraft first w/ a nuclear reactor and supply of O2, the return module sucks martian CO2 and combines it w/ H2 imported fron Earth (endothermic reaction, w/ heat provided by nuclear reactor)

H2 + CO2 + heat -> CH4

basically ptoduce 95% of the return fuel on Mars

so preparing the mars base would be a pretty basic affair

@Jobava The NASA challenge is closed now. But I think our idea can be applied to other scenarios, even on Earth. I know a guy who's developing an interesting aircraft. Combining both things could be awesome. Anyway, our point was creating the tools in situ in Mars, instead carrying stuff from Earth. Hence the data base and remote communication.

Excellent @Borisbudini ! Thank you ?
