No. These guys base their OS on Debian (I think this is because of it's number of available architectures, and there are systemd-haters in their developers team). Sad, but there is nothing like that in the world, but based on Fedora.

Because there was not a lot of interest from manufacturers. They needed support from them. Mark Shuttleworth has money and influence, but is not a magician. So they decided to close it.
But then Microsoft _stole_ that idea, and pushed it in Windows 10 - everyone is just "Wow! I can connect my phone to a monitor and HID devices, and use my apps on a big screen!". But noone know, there it comes from. Steve Jobs spirit is alive.
And also, now they almost got it in their Unity 8.
