But that's out of the scope for Docker here.
Docker already does insane things in behind that are hard to understand...
But hey, who am I to say this in a systemd world...
Still, you can totally start systemd or runit or whatever inside a container, yes.

And yes, there are some applicable reasons I could think of.
FWIW, I abuse i3blocks as a scheduler on my desktops.
E.g. for anything I need more fine granular control than "every 60 seconds"
It's quite annoying because I find nothing similar in Gnome, KDE, Xfce or any other desktop for that matter.
For example runs neofetch every 10sec to update a ~/.neofetch.output file which gets displayed every time I open a new shell, etc.
The actual reason why this is running Debian is that I had this box lying around in my home while one of my X220's died so I had to replace it and that X62 works quite nice as a replacement for my prior X220 Docking station "workstation / desktop computer".
And it was still running Sid. Shoot me.
:)
I also happened to find this nicely customized i3 setup on it after half a year or so and now am just using that
I have to admit not knowing where my Fedora laptop is right now :(
But it pings \o/

Hello folks,
I have this issue: I changed the SDDM theme and now the session won't start, it doesn't show any kind login window or anything, just a cursor and a black screen. The cursos moves but the keyboard seems unresponsive.
How can I login through console (skipping the GUI login)? Alternatively, how can I sort using a live ISO?
Is there any other way to fix this?
@Wolfshappen ?
Thanks in advance!

From a text based session I would try to reinstall sddm:
su -c 'dnf reinstall sddm'

Try from the GRUB menu then. That should work.

Here is an example of the GRUB to run level 3 thing: https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2012/howto-change-runlevel-on-grub2/
I have never used KDE or changed the default sddm theme, so I don't have any idea of which files did you add, where did you add it, or where does settings are stored.
I bet those settings only affect one user, so from the console session you could add a new user and work from there in a more comfy way.
Also consider asking on the KDE telegram group, sure there are more KDE users that might know about this and were does settings are stored so you can revert them.

During boot?
Choose the "rescue" entry

Can I switch to graphic desktop once I logged in?
If you are already logued in console mode, I would try to install another desktop manager:
su -c 'dnf install lightdm-qt'
Then set sddm as disable:
su -c 'systemct disable sddm.service'
Finally enable lightdm.service:
su -c 'systemctl enable lightdm.service'

It's not LightDM, it's SDDM that is KDE default.
Anyway, I sorted it. Would you like to know how?

Not the whole program.
Yes.
Booted a live KDE Spin and searched through the system files (the installed system) from it. In the SDDM configuration file (/etc/sddm.conf) I changed 'chili' for 'simple', that it's another theme I have installed. Saved and rebooted.
Voilá! I'm in KDE again.
Interesting side note, Dolphin has single-click by default in the live ISO, so "something" changes with the updates that leaves it as double-click. I certainly did nothing to change it.
I tried booting from rescue mode but it didn't work either.

Interesting. The Dolphin issue is definitely a user settings thing, but I couldn't find out which exactly was the setting as everything seemed to be correct. So I changed single to double click in Desktop behaviour and applied. And then moments later, I changed it again to single click and applied. And now Dolphin is working in the same way as Plasma does.
But dang it if I know the reason!
Ah. I see where.
Why there's a lower dash after the 3 ?

Yes, it can lead to confusion.
Specially because I never touch the GRUB. I did in the past and ended with unusable systems so I'm very careful about it. I don't mingle with it unless there is no other choice.
