mpv standalone uses less ram and handles just as nice.

Does mpv make use of dbus screensaver or xscreensaver?
Afaik gnome just doesnt lock automatically if any application is fullscreen.

And i mean, real fullscreen, not just pulled big to cover the screen.

the reason I like to use smplayer is "send video to screen", usefull when I'm presentating video

yes, I know, I have used it before, and its interface is very suitable for Chinese people.

But I use mpv directly now.

Fedora 28 - setup Samba Domain Controller (samba samba-dc) according to server-world instructions. Trying to use RSAT/ADUC on Win10 machine. Has issues connecting and working until I turn off the Firewall on Fedora. I've opened a lot of ports and services in addition to the ones listed in server-world tutorial, but have to shut off Firewall Service.

Can I build some package on a VM and install it on my host

The thing is I don't want to install unnecessary deps just to build a package. So I was thinking to build it on a VM

Mock uses its own chroot and start installing deps in that chroot itself. When building is complete, it generates the package and cleans the chroot.

First you should create a srpm

mock --buildsrpm --spec=<yourspecfile>.spec --sources=<sources;>

Trying to decide what system to install, Fedora, Debian testing or Arch. I want it with KDE and the laptop has 8GB RAM so speed is not a concern, it will be fast regardless the system.

Yes, it's a point of view like any other. And I do agree that Kontakt is messy. But I wouldn't change desktop just for that; there are so many other similar programs like Evolution and Thunderbird, that you can use in KDE.

The last (in a large series of) debacles should still be on all our minds - where java se downloads are now default to a "no commercial usage" download, to force companies to buy for it when they realize its too late.

Oracle(l) hate over all their actions, destructive behaviour in the open source community and general douchery/lawyer intimidation is pretty justified imho.
