I hope so. Up to now it's impossible to try Gnome Shell AND Cinnamon or Mate at the same time because touchpad ends useless.

Let's say I have Cinnamon Spin but I want to try Gnome Shell. The obvious thing to do is installing it. Well, no. You can't. Because One desktop uses libinput and the other uses synaptics, so your touchpad configuration ends messed.

Maybe, well, it's a developers team decision. I can't see why different configs won't work together, probably it need some tweaks but i think there should be a way to make it work

I didn't see it too so I installed it. And before I could use them everything was messed and my touchpad stopped working. I had to uninstall one of the libraries and with it one desktop. Given I have Workstation in my laptop, it didn't make sense to keep Cinnnamon or Mate, so I deleted Synaptics and those desktops all together. And everything came back to normalcy. Interesting to note, Cinnamon doesn't seem to be affected, but Gnome does.
