Sorry if this has already been suggested, I can't be bothered scrolling. But did you install this: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.1.4/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.1.4-110228.vbox-extpack
onto virtual box itself

Hello! I have an US keyboard that lacks the Alt+Gr key. I'm using Gnome Shell. Anyway to map the AltGr key... somewhere? Thanks!

Sure?
Right after the space bar there use to be the AltGr key

There's a right Alt but no AltGr

On my keyboard just say Alt

Mine says Alt and acts like Alt
No, it doesn't work
That's the problem, it works as Alt only.

I use English US international with AltGr Dead keys

I want to write the euro symbol, let's say, and I can't. But it's there! It's even written in the 5 key

And it's really getting on my nerves, I tried using Tweak Gnome Tools to configure certain things, but still don't work

And switch to it.

Kohane

Yes, it is, but I didn't want to swap to yet another keyboard, I already have 3 configured
I want an AltGr working key on any keyboard not just one
It doesn't work anyway, just checked, none have AltGr
They assume is there

Well, I have used two options, US international with dead keys and the US international with AltGr Dead keys, in both AltGr works.
Even on Spanish Latam it works.
Are you sure it is not a hardware related bug?

Kohane
11.09.2016
06:48:22
Yes, it worked for me in my previous laptops
Mmm... Do you mean that particular key isn't working?
Or broken?

Try with an external usb keyboard to debug if possible.

How?
I have no extra keyboard
Ah! But I still have the Polish Windows it came with by default. Maybe I could see if it works over there?
Or try something else on Gnome Tweak Tool... I don't know

Try the US int algr dead keys, just in case of, then you can remove it the same way you added it.

I have US international with dead keys, US with the euro symbol in 5 key (is even written there!) and Spanish Spain

(■_■¬)

With dead keys only you only need to press algr, lift the finger from the key, the press the key with the desired character.

@ietxabe I'm installing Florence and I'll try it later on. But I still think that Gnome should have a way to map AltGr somewhere else when it's not present in the physical keyboard

Here's something weird.. Whenever I plug in or plug out my laptop charger, SELinux shows an error saying : SELinux is preventing iw from write access on the file /run/tlp/lock_tlp. Has anyone else faced a similar issue?
