No, the device is being recognized. I can see it in NetworkManager. So it can't be a driver issue. It just doesn't connect.

Did you checked configuration is fine? A nonsense can send your internet to hell. It happened to me, although not in built-in but in USB modems. I would take a look at there, is the only thing I can think about right now.

At some point one cell company in my country changed configuration, and the profile distributed was wrong. If you used an old profile you were fine as the retained for some time the old setup. But new install needed to enter the info manually. There are many people involved and it is possible to get things wrong.
