If so then that is just a virtual internal adapter working at 10 gigabit - it is only 1 towards the outside but it has a 10G connection to the host.

That is true for all virtio network interface default configurations.

Unless your OVH plan explicitely states that you have ordered a 10 gigabit line to the outside for both machines and or atleast 10 gigabit inside their entire network then you dont have 10G.

I'd really doubt that. It just could've overexerted an old an already failing drive or it was just hitting a manufacturing error that ruined it.

well the device was just a drive for trying out distros...it could be...i don't remember how old it is but it should be around 15 or 16 years...

Unlikely again. If you drive usb drives too hard they'll eventually lock into an emergency mode so you can only retrieve data but it reports being write protected without any ability to remove it. The cheaper the drive the faster this happens

In general: mbr usually has nothing to do with anyhting and is one of the most unlikely failure reasons. Hardware being worn out, dying, drive failure, corruption of partitions and more usually come way way way before the mbr will ever have a problem

No. You can try to start your machine with xorg instead of wayland or installing propreitary drivers as a last resort.

But if the monitor isnt detected even then there is little to nothing you could do avout it except looking in journalctl -xe to look for possible related errors right when you plugged it in and making a bug report.

Else tell us if you have a nvidia, amd or intel hd/amd igpu.

Then try rebooting with the screen inserted and if it doesnt show anythong at login press the little gear icon and choose "gnome on x.org"
