sudo it is not enabled by default in fedora. You have to have check a box saying that the user is admin at the installation process when configuring the user

so, you may be using su to gain access to root, or have been using "su -c" to send root commands.... now that you try sudo, you may not found the usual ubuntu style

i am just saying what it is the most mundane and common ocurrence of people not finding sudo at fedora

You can always add your user to the sudoers group

dropbox is not a backup software. it's just a cloud storage. not the best one for backup storage
