They should colorized it based on usage not Arch. Like network, rescue, desktop, service, vm, ...
Anybody ever heard about distro named Manjaro? It's number 3 in distrowatch list. I think it's not reliable. Is it?

Manjaro is basically a reskinned Arch that is already setup
at least for daily use
i never tried it out myself, but i know it is popular

npm install gtop -g
It doesn't need X
It use 5% cpu!

that's still too much cpu

Nah, thanks, I would stick to top

Oh the basic idea behind gtop is nice and it looks awesome but it can't beat top because top is a standard tool, works without nodejs installed and has years of proofen quality work.
So it a nice toy for a private desktop when you develop NodeJS applications, but for everything else good old top is the way to go

its like arch i guess
arch with less dumb, but with the same micromanaging

Victor Hugo
28.09.2017
03:00:34
i don't think arch users agree with that
they want to be doing everything manually because "learning experience"
sometimes you gotta get things done instead of fiddling with pointless things

Probably they don't have any problems that why they choose it to get busy

all joke aside, your time isn't valuable on either

i learned a lot about how linux OSs are constructed by running arch and gentoo for a few years
i run fedora now, because i don't have the time to fiddle with broken packages. so instead i just deal with broken packages and compatibility problems every 6 months :)

Victor Hugo
28.09.2017
03:10:20
ha, that's why i said that your time isn't valuable
ehhh, its no longer every 6 months now
you can just do a system upgrade and it works perfectly

well, yea. i just do things like try to mess around with wayland and my optimus GPUs every new fedora
wayland worked great in f25, broken in f26, works again in f27
but then i stop and settle on some set up for 6-ish months
it's the perfect cadence for me

lightdm breaking wont stop you from using other tty instances
