thing is with 6.1.36, somebody got it running on 13.1-p2? I had used Vbox on fbsd like 4 years now
accelerat0r 🇮🇱 🇮🇱 🇮🇱

ok , so i would like you guys to see this first

https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/virtualbox-kernel-module-fails-to-load-on-freebsd-13-1-release.85191/
[]
thats what i did, changed repository to quarterly, yesterday i decided to try on latest again, so did full force upgrade, the only problem i have now is that virtualbox-ose keeps failing to build a usable module
[]
[]
makes no sense to me that building virtualbox-ose-kmod from ports gives me the same MD5 sum that one from binary package...
[]
maybe my kernel headers are outdated? gonna check that
[]
thanks for hearing me xD

Hi Guys, someone here can tell me how Convert FreeBSD ISO images to docker images ? I Want to do my own images ...
Jay
Joey
I can't even spell docker, but even I know that you need to do a docker install, then convert that into your golden image or template or whatever they call it
Joey
...assuming BSD even runs in docker
Anonymous
it won't
Joey
is docker strictly a Linux thing?
Joey
Anonymous
Yes, docker is a Linux/windows/mac thing. For reasons I don't quite understand they do NOT support FreeBSD.
XS
FreeBSD have jails and ZFS so it can provide the same functionality as docker to host FreeBSD and GNU/Linux jails. Docker has no specific goal to support FreeBSD and the way Docker is made makes it not really possible.
Candy
Pretty sure it only primarily supports Linux, and has some limited Windows support, for actual Windows base OS images. FreeBSD used to be supported I think. But normally docker on non-Linux platforms is just handled by a docker host on Linux running in a VM.
XS
Because docker relies on namespace's API from Linux, which is not available on FreeBSD.
XS
But, there's jails instead, as said

it has a BSD userland, but the kernel is Mach.

Hi all! I'm "new" on freebsd
David
enjoy
Yorhane
Has anyone had this error when compiling virtualbox?
David
yea, got the same, but since the package version is the same, I used that and compiled the module
Yorhane
David
There still seems to be catchup going on between ports from the previous version and current release version as the compile message said that the version was only for 13.1
Yorhane

no

read again

i didnt use ghost bsd, but i guess some dependency could be installed on different version than port requires
[]
virtualbox is not in pkg repository there?
Yorhane
I'll test it now, but with a little more swap, because it was only 2g
[]
did you make config and changed something?
Yorhane
Yorhane

everyday I learn something new just reading that channel

also an easy way to automatically reinstall your OS: rm -rf /*
Hardcode
too expensive and too dangerous for the civilians
