how can I enable battery conservation mode in FreeBSD? Is it possible? (I mean, I want to set max charging to 60%. It is available in TLP of Linux. but I have no idea in FreeBSD)

hi, I want to change my gpu's clock and voltage ( something like /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_od_clk_voltage in GNU/Linux) how can I do this on FreeBSD?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
What have you tried so far? There is drm-kmod from linux-kpi in FreeBSD
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Also, which vendor are you relying on?
Anonymous
I have an rx590, and my driver is working fine, I just don't know where I can tune my clock and voltage
Belgacem
Hi all! So i must write : fuse_load="YES" or : fusefs_load="YES" in my loader.conf?
Jackie
https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/how-do-i-load-fuse-properly-and-persistently.79738/
Jackie
If you use them very often add them like in this thread. but if you don't use them that often, I guess you can load them using kldload command too.
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
It is then possible to use both? Thank you bro.
If you load it at boot then the kldload ain't necessary
Jackie
It is then possible to use both? Thank you bro.
Didn't try. You can try using kldload or read manual.

Read the rules. What have you tried? Also, the log mentioned on the screen can give you a hint
Carl
maybe he have some more troubles, but he executed startx as root
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Oh, true. That's not a good practice
Carl
remove all .xauth you have inside /home/$USER
Carl
and then execute startx as a common user

Now its working

Install iichid if you don't have it installed $ pkg install iichid Then or add the line iichid_load="YES" in /boot/loader.conf And try this xorg configuration: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Touchpad" Driver "libinput" Option "Device" "/dev/input/event6" Option "AutoServerLayout" "true" EndSection

Anonymous
Are there some extensions like in xnu kernel?
Anonymous
Is xorg-minimal already ported?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I've not seen this before. Is it not already shipped with the FreeBSD kernel?
I think it isn't but I'll have to check back when I leave work
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Are there some extensions like in xnu kernel?
There are modules you can load and unload at runtime, and at boot time
Candy
Are there some extensions like in xnu kernel?
I think FreeBSD kernel modules are equivalent to xnu kexts

There is no bot here yet. You can check the channel @freebsd to find some resources on the OS

You have adb-tools in the ports and packages collections
Anonymous
Ok. So adb-tools should be enough
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
You can also take a look at this workaround https://t.me/FreeBSD/65

Maybe this helps https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/config/#acpi-overview take a look at backlight(8) too
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Where is xorg configure located? I cant find it on /etc/x11
/usr/local/etc/X11/ FreeBSD uses /usr/local
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
You'll find headers there too if you plan to do programming
Anonymous
No isnt
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Inside X11/ there should be a xorg.config.d/ directory

actually there s patch. but idk how to compile that kind of source xD
Anonymous
oops
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
patches are meant to be applied to ports, and then building the package from the src + the changes should install the modified package
Anonymous
then how do i compile this? lemme give you the git link
