Do you need edit a file with this command or do you need a howto?
Anonymous
But what to write there
DtxdF
ee /etc/rc.conf
Add data into that file and hit the ESC key. Press ENTER to exit, and if you have edited it, it will require the confirmation.

Rebooting after In /etc/rc.conf ntpd_enable="YES" ntpd_sync_on_start="YES"

Rebooting after In /etc/rc.conf ntpd_enable="YES" ntpd_sync_on_start="YES"
This is an invalid syntax. Each variable must appear line by line.

There is always someone who is going to be offended, someone whose humour is going to be difficult to understand and someone who doesn't know when to stop. I thought we were mature enough to know when to stop. Humour is a difficult thing these days, so please be careful if someone doesn't get a joke. I'd really like that this is a place where we can talk more freely than in other chats or platforms, but as there are definitely a lot of new people coming in and out, I'm going to add a set of rules so I don't have to warn anyone again and I don't care what excuse anyone has for not reading them
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
The #rules are basic, however it's necessary to list them to avoid misunderstanding: - Provide a valid username to your account. Hidden usernames' accounts will be removed. - This chat aims for FreeBSD related topics. The rest is considered Off topic. Those chats go to the OT room @freebsd_offtopics or the forum section here named offtopics - No NSFW content. - No spam. - Harassment, racism and violence are forbidden. - No advertising or promotion. - No crypto. - No piracy. - No Religious Content. - No Political Discussions. - Be Respectful. - Don't play childish. - Do not seek for cause discord. - Do not flood the chat waging for help without showcasing first what have you tried to solve a problem. This is not 24/7 helpdesk. - Don't send messages to the admins in private unless it's related to managing the group and prior asking here. - Before asking why BSD and not Linux read this http://www.over-yonder.net/~fullermd/rants/bsd4linux/01 And this https://www.freebsd.org/advocacy/myths/#beaten - Before asking any newbie questions under that excuse, read the handbook first https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/ - For short logs use text instead of photos or screenshots. - For long logs, config sharing and reports, it's better to use a pastebin-like service like https://bsd.to/ https://dpaste.org/ Please, note the administrators will ban anyone not following the rules listed above.

Thank you. Already tested mrclksr and linuxlator, but I run into some issues, especially when using mrclksr's resource.

The other way is trying to make it manually as the Handbook guides for the Linux emulation layer https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/linuxemu/

I don't know what happened here before, but all I can see is this L being an asshole, flooding and insulting, without any sense of when to stop. I think he should be banned and his messages deleted.

Rules don't apply only one side. What happened before was solved and that guy kept being disrespectful and as I said, I don't care about any excuses. Not following the rules means leaving the group

you will notice this is a really active group

From what I know you can run some linux app on freebsd using a linux compatibility layer(/compat/linux or /compat/ubuntu). Not an expert, but I am testing also some linux apps on freebsd.

FreeBSD should already run natively as a host in FreeBSD. You could also try bhyve

Is it like a vm or wsl
Candy
Is it like a vm or wsl
The Linux compatibility layer is more like WSL1. Linux syscall implementations.
