Отключай, похоже оно не работает 🤷🏻‍♂

Has anybody succeeded to build codelite on FreeBSD 13 from ports? It has a pygment release conflict
linuxer
Can you share a log?
pkg-static: py37-pygments-2.7.2 conflicts with py38-pygments-2.7.2 (installs files into the same place). Problematic file: /usr/local/bin/pygmentize
linuxer
loool, yup
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Well, seems codelite is marked as broken on ports
linuxer
bump
linuxer
it is an old release of codelite too
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
https://www.freshports.org/editors/codelite/
linuxer
yeah
linuxer
editors/codelite: Mark broken, doesn't build with Pango 1.46.2 or newer
linuxer
:/
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
it is an old release of codelite too
Seems to. Do you have experience in code? Maybe you can ask to maintain the port updated
linuxer
I have some, I am a developer, but not aware of Codelite's code 😂😂😂
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Since the raise of editors like Atom or VSCode, seems like old good IDEs have been silently going underrated
linuxer
yeah, this is sad
linuxer
codelite is a rather lightweight IDE
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I have some, I am a developer, but not aware of Codelite's code 😂😂😂
I guess all it takes is to update port dependencies and check the makefiles. But depends on each project sure. I did some changes to ports locally to make them work, and I ended up messing with header files and paths 😅

Use other editors/IDEs. Geany IDE, Vim, Kakoune.
I was about to mention Geany. Good one (:
linuxer
yeah
linuxer
but cannot be compared
linuxer
Geany is good for small stuff
Pouria
Geany is good for small stuff
Vim and Kakoune is good for small/big projects.
linuxer
I use it enough
Pouria
It's on you, how to use it.
linuxer
I need codelite, you see all og my work was done there
linuxer
the case is that the port should be updated 😂😂😂
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I need codelite, you see all og my work was done there
Then it's about time to take control on the port
linuxer
I am new to FreeBSD
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I am new to FreeBSD
Ports contain a makefile and file paths to dependencies. CodeLite seems to be a bit bigger than the ports I tried to update, but you can try to locally clone the src https://github.com/eranif/codelite and put it on the ports directory. Or you can try to move the makefile from the ports into the directory you download the src Then you need to install all dependencies mentioned on their github, and check LDFLAGS and CFLAGS are pointing to the right directory on FreeBSD.
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Then you can use clang to build it, using make install
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
The other way around is to install dependencies and just run Cmake from the cloned repo

Hi, I have a laptop with uefi and I installed the drm-kmod. Put in /etc/rc.conf kld_list="i915kms". But I see that the font size at boot time is big and I don't know how I can reduce the font size.
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
What build system does freebsd use? Gnu autotools?
Poudriere iirc https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/porters-handbook/testing/
Shri
👋 i installed freebsd 13 release on new asus laptop 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, i3 8th gen. good. but it is slow just installing xorg, slim, cinnamon took 5 hours and chromium took 1 hour for installation. all installations by pkg only no ports etc. any one has any solution.
Pouria
pkg.conf(5)
Shri
You should use a VPN or change the repository URL.
fetching is not a problem all required files are fetched in few seconds. after that problem comes when files are extracted and installed. may be hdd problem. mine is toshiba make 2021 hdd.
Shri
It can be.
ok, i try your solution
Pouria
ok, i try your solution
Nope. Extracting and installing packages does not related to fetching packages.
Shri
also, i forget to mention even default installation without ports took 2 hours 40 minutes.
Shri
yes, i also think so, should i try other os for conclusion?
Shri
or zfs can help as im using ufs now
Pouria
yes, i also think so, should i try other os for conclusion?
Hmm. IDK know. If the problem is related to hardware nothing will change.
Shri
I'd swap the HDD and replace it with a 256gb SSD or similar
if doing on your advice can i use dd command to clone my hdd to sdd. then new disk will behave normally?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
if doing on your advice can i use dd command to clone my hdd to sdd. then new disk will behave normally?
I suggest a fresh install in the new SSD, making use of ZFS maybe. That will guarantee the double check for your system if it's maybe some other hardware component making FreeBSD perform slow
Shri
yes you're right
Anonymous

By cloning you mean making an image of your HDD with dd And then using dd to burn that image to ssd?
Shri

no; installing new ssd then doing dd if=/dev/existing of=/dev/newssd bs=512M status=progess then removing old hdd and booting but now i will fresh install with freebsd 14 current.

If python get their jobs done as expected, so they are right to get focused on
Yeah people who program in python don't care about speed, they just want to program quicker
Kueppo
very fast compare to python
Anonymous

What even is it used for?
Kueppo
many things such as system/net admin

In AI,ML areas? For it seems python is most used there
Kueppo
After coding in bash, it's time to give perl a try :)

I don't think so dude, for many books written about AI,ML suggest most python otherwise C++, R etc
