Electron can't compile Mobile Applications yet, which C# can... that is a problem if you want to make truly universal application.

I know most Cryptocurrency desktop ui don't use it. They're Qt based mostly. Electron is resource intesive

I really don't think the new Windows UWP is good, it is good for small programs but it's horrible for large ones, it's more like programming a phone.

No, Visual Studio is not written in UWP, but Edge is. and it's a large project. UWP isn't horrible. UWP gives much better security, stability,better battery life and better integration between apps and OS.
