Afaik, it has parity with at least win 2k and other early NT os'. It can run some "interesting" programs such as Skyrim and HL2, but everyone's mileage may vary given time/effort.

the most important thing is that it will be able to use windows drivers and also that it will give everyone the possibility to use an open source implementation of windows. ok, linux is good, but some people (like me) prefer working on windows. about programs and drivers working: the more we test, the more bugs we find. this will help developers and make ros better, so that it can be useful to more people and helps in finding other developers too, which will speed up development and resolve issues.

I tried a bunch of .exe installers, most of them are games. So yeah, I'm pretty sure most of them are .NET aplications.

But is the absence of .NET enough to get an error like that?

All games bring their distributables, but if you can't install them it useless.

whether mono runs on reactos

latest version of mono can help those applications which require .NET 4 . but as .NET 4 can not be installed on reactos, so those apps can not be run. mono latest version on reactos can help here
