Welcome)
Bambi
Hello all! I hope I won't interrupt you at all. I only want track the development of the OS. :)
Bambi
I though it is sort of a channel to announce any further updates. Well, I was mistsken.

Don't worry Be free to ask anything and tell about your experience of using the OS

Actually, there is an unofficial channel It is in russian, but links are to English sources of news https://telegram.me/reactos_unofficial

Well, I just got to know about this OS, and honestly, a while ago I actually did not know much about the OS itself; I had been thinking it's another Linux distro.

..until in the depths of Internet I read that this project involves Open-Source Windows-NT environment OS. I had to discover a little more, I'd not be myself I did not. ;)
Stefan
I installed the latest Firefox and this happened lol. Well, I guess ReactOS isn't that far yet :)

There's a reason why we repeatedly say it's still alpha ;P

Will it run Crisys then?.. I'm apologize if common IT-memes-jokes here are prohibited here. ;; I believe this chat is for development purposes only, although I couldn't resist this time.
David
no this isn't for development purposes
David
that's what the #reactos-dev IRC channel is for
David
this is just a chat about reactos and reactos-related things
David
and it's not even the primary one — just a convenience for people who want to chat outside of IRC ;P
Bambi
this is just a chat about reactos and reactos-related things
Even not directly related, but generally PC related things?
Anonymous
Related to react on pc
David
well you can occasionally ask something that's not directly related with reactos
David
but if it was common then it wouoldn'te be a "reactos chat", it would be "pc thigns and reactos sometimes maybe"
David
;P
Bambi
For an instance, if someone while testing ReactOS on a virtual machine got kernel panic on his machine, could he ask for help related to occured issue with his mainly used OS?
David
yo ucould ask
David
but chances are someone would tell you to ask in the virtual machine forums
David

Actually, it should run Crysis. I am not joking. But the GPU drivers are very basic for now so don't expect much performance.
Jyrki
also, the real question should be "how do I patch KDE2 for ReactOS?"
Bambi

I would happily see that happening of the millennium. Anyway, I just threw away ReactOS ISO after unsuccessful drivers installation in Virtual Box session due to it is kinda useless to me running a OS without Internet connection. Despite of being in this group, I didn't realize I could have asked for a solution as far as running the OS is concerned.

Well, since there's a KDE for Windows, they might work without patches
