Mr.
You did not. You would know where the config files are and how they are organized. No lies.
no sir. I am at my rope's end. I am hoping you know more than me or have a trick up your sleeve and maybe maybe could solve the problem.

Wow. This could be the reason I can't turn my touchpad back on... I disabled it before upgrade to 12.1😂 I am using the mouse so I haven't noticed that... I wish I had read the update information..🤣🤣🤣

using sndio

@TheWhyteCrow @n0madcoder @Pascal3366 there is one thing you don't realize ..... look
Yes I already told you you might have to build xorg with options to enable evdev for libinput But it could be that it is already implemented in newer versions
TheWhyteCrow
please explain?
Just read the post you have photographed. 12.1 switches to evdev by default which prevents me from turning the touchpad back on by pressing Fn+F10.
./pascal.sh
which option edev or udev?
you need to enable evdev
Mr.
and now I am rebooting to see the effect
TheWhyteCrow
switched to edev or udev????
You need both, udev drives the devices to the kernel and evdev is a method of using them under X, if I got it right.

It's about 2 weeks that I'm triying to fix but nothing changed microphone is working in audacity app. but not in telegram-desktop my microphone device is laptop internal microphone (/dev/dsp5) thanks if you help me I'm ready for test anything

Mr.
and I did build it with edev. and well, nothing changed
TheWhyteCrow
It is one or the other
This is DEVD x UDEV. On the system you can use both, one or the other will be ignored by Xorg server. Evdev ... No. Read again.

Mr.
I did build and install xorg with edevd
Mr.
could you elaborate
Mr.
anyone any ideas?
Mr.
Because it is its job😁
but I built the xorg x11-server with edevd
Mr.
What I could gather is that current state meaning only libinput can manage input devices and its bug not being able to apply libinput settings is a common knowledge but there isn't any fix for it
Mr.
here is freebsd 11.4 . please look at the differnce. now out if the box after installing only the xorg meta package. I have all the functionality I need
Mr.
🤟🤩

Please read whole sentences, whole pages, whole articles and understand them. Then, you might stop mixing the terms and thoughts. 😉
Mr.
now , devd is picking the tab
TheWhyteCrow
Mr.
No, in share/ there are sample configs and hints. Move it there, if you did any edits.
funny you should say this. xorg in freebsd 12.1 is picking the configuration files from /use/local/share/xorg.conf.d it said at the top of Xorg.0.log
Mr.
😀
Mr.
Any and all.
not helpful. freebsd say : from 12.1 the scheme of things changed. you have udev to manage input devices before that it was devd.
Mr.
am I OK up to this point???
Mr.
I am under the ruskie's tradition. as the old saying goes. why?
Mr.
bothered you too much???
Mr.
I apologize.
TheWhyteCrow
bothered you too much???
No, it was fun 😂
Mr.
could this issue fixes itself by the next 12 release?

Oh OK then i was mistaken I suggested that the file would be /etc/X11/xorg.conf but thats only in the Linux world

I was not sure about that because everything worked out of the box when I installed 12.0. Things might have changed by the upgrade, anyway, I always use a mouse.

Mr.
the installation manual mentions /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
Mr.
I managed to make a touchpad working in 11.4 but not in 12.1 😭😭😭
Mr.
Why? What's this nonsense 😡
Mr.
Words of wisdom.
./pascal.sh
What exact problems are you facing now with your touchpad? I was running freebsd 11.2 with synaptics on my old laptop and had zero issues.
Mr.
Lovely. Now I don't have touchpad and keyboard.
Mr.
How should I suppose to type.
Mr.
Didn't freebsd developers think of that?
./pascal.sh
Nice is there finally consumer risc-v hardware aside from the development board availiable?
