./pascal.sh
😂😂😂
./pascal.sh
Running multiple virtual machines? Good luck with that
./pascal.sh
It depends on how much ram you gives the machines :)
Usually I give a machine 8 gigs of ram 😂
Arminio
Nice, can I have a VM your host?
Arminio
😄

I just mentioned this little side note because this was surprised me. I usually just use i3wm, terminal emu, and 2 web browsers (ff doesn't play well with slack call integration). And about 30 Tabs I would guess. ... Running pkg upgrade now.
./pascal.sh
I use awesome :)
Arminio
i3 is where it’s at for me, but I’ve probably used more than 10 tiling WMs over all the years.
Arminio
❤️ i3
./pascal.sh
Oh OK I don't know I never really liked i3
It was just not configurable enough for me
daemonbytes.net
Arminio
Arminio
Awesome was much too slow for my taste, but I loved using it.
./pascal.sh
./pascal.sh
./pascal.sh
But no other wm really fits my needs and workflow
./pascal.sh
I tried bspwm but it was sooo basic
And the mechanisms weird
Arminio
What I can highly recommend as well is hlwm (HerbstluftWM) and bspwm. But both are even harder to get right than i3.
./pascal.sh
Arminio
Oh I loved that one
daemonbytes.net
i3wm has a decent documentation that's why i stuck with it.
daemonbytes.net
I tried awesome wm but to much looking stuff up for me.
./pascal.sh
What I really loved about herbstluftwm is the fact about the manual tiling with the frames
Because you can exactly define the sizes of the frames
daemonbytes.net
Well if I'm exact I use the i3-gaps fork.
./pascal.sh
OK many people use it
But I don't really know why 😂
./pascal.sh
Also many people use polybar with i3
But polybar is really nice
daemonbytes.net
./pascal.sh
I am using the holo theme :D
./pascal.sh
./pascal.sh
This was my last rice
https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/cs86dk/herbstluftwm_tardis_rice/
But its not my current
./pascal.sh
Before that I had this
https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/adiryt/awesome_new_year_new_awesome/
./pascal.sh
Oh this was also really cool
https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/88lor9/awesome_multiple_tagbased_wallpapers/
daemonbytes.net
All very neat 👍
./pascal.sh
Thanks :)
./pascal.sh
I totally forgot that I also used i3 for a while

ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
ricing never gets old ^^
./pascal.sh
Oh yees
./pascal.sh
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I'm kinda busy right now but I'm still making content for it
./pascal.sh
I stopped writing on my freebsd blog quite time ago, because currently I am running no freebsd, except on my firewall
I was running freebsd on my old laptop for about a year and it was a cool time
But the problem is that I need some programs for university which are not available on freebsd I think
And on my desktop I need Linux for gaming
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Ahhh gaming hehe yeah, I read somewhere someone on github has a Readme with instructions to make Steam work inside FreeBSD but never tried it.
I'm hardly maintaining a Debian computer to do work related stuff only doable in Linux but I'm trying to do as much as possible inside BSD
./pascal.sh
./pascal.sh
I remember I tried it in the past and it did not work
./pascal.sh
Interesting I just stumbled upon UrBackup
It runs on a server and can make automated incremental backups of clients
It also runs on freebsd
Maybe someone wants to check it out

Whenever I read 'folder' instead of 'directory' in a *nix related tool/program/service documentation, even manpage(!)

Mr.
hello
Mr.
I have a problem.
Mr.
libinput takes over xorg and synaptic s doesn't take effect
Mr.
why?
Mr.
I need make my touchpad operational
./pascal.sh
Have you tried to disable libibput in favor for synaptics?
Is synaptics not deprecated? I think nowadays libinput should be the way to go
Mr.
Mr.
also how could I disable libinput????
Mr.
How to disable libinput?
./pascal.sh
Isn't libinput automatically disabled if you enable
hw.psm.synaptics_support="1"
In /boot/loader.conf ?
Mr.
40-libinput.conf is in /usr/local/share/X11/xorg.conf.d and startx would use libinput
Mr.
as I can see it inside Xorg.0.log
./pascal.sh
I think it should be enough if you follow the steps here
https://wiki.freebsd.org/SynapticsTouchpad#How_to_use_it
libinput should then be disabled
Mr.
changing the numbering of the conf file has no effect
./pascal.sh
You could try renaming the file to .bak or .old to ignore its config
Mr.
Mr.
BUT then my laptop has no keyboard no touchpad
Mr.
Mr.
I used it step by step exactly
Mr.
didn't do nothing
Mr.
look
./pascal.sh
Mhhhh
Mr.
Mr.
Mr.
sysctl has no such option as stated in wiki of freebsd
Mr.
😭😭😭
./pascal.sh
Mh ok
./pascal.sh
Why do you even want to use synaptics over libinput?
Mr.
no particular reason
