No, not like that, I just want to know, if I want to update the freebsd system will I lose the previous data or not? and if not is there a way like arch which can update & upgrade the whole system with just 1 command? Instead of installing from new image

freebsd-update is made for that. it is an utility that automatically fetches and installs patches for your installed release ( freebsd-update fetch && freebsd-update install ) or upgrades your current freebsd installation ( freebsd-update -r x.y-type upgrade ). refer to the handbook for more details: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/updating-upgrading-freebsdupdate.html

Something weir happened right now to my freeBSD. I just installed a fresh iso and the first time I'm asked to fetch 'pkg' it says there's a conflict: freeBSD-13-amd64 doesn't match freeBSD-13.0-amd64 How can I solve this? Do I have to update the whole system?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
I tried updating the system and reinstalling 'pkg' from ports with no luck
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
pkg: wrong architecture: FreeBSD:13.0:amd64 instead of FreeBSD:13:amd64 Repository contains packages with wrong ABI Is there a way to change/edit architecture's name?

current is experimental n sumtimes with issues n compatability....if u are using older computers....better stick with release or stabel....
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
It's a bug, pull request is already submitted

Well if you find a reasonable machine for cheap that 100% works with both, I'd be super interested in what machine that is and how it turns out for you.
